Russian steak recipe

This is a great recipe for a wonderful way to serve your steak.

This rustic way to prepare russian steak is a great recipe for hearty dinner parties or exotic flare on the same old beef.

Ingredients:

2 lbs. round steak, cut 1" thick

1 tsp salt

1/4 tsp pepper

6 tbsp flour

2 tbsp shortening

1/4 cup catsup

1/2 cup diced celery

1 cup tomatoes

2 oz. canned mushrooms

4 tbsp cold water

1 tbsp chopped green pepper

3 tbsp chopped onion

Mix catsup, flour and vegetables. Brown mean, which has been cut into serving pieces.

Season with salt and pepper.

Put into baking dish, and put mixed vegetables on top.

Bake in a 325 degree oven for 2.5 hours.

remove mean and thicken gravy with remaining flour and the 1/4 cup water.

Serve with either curried rice, potatoes or pasta.
